Community Enterprise Development as a Strategy towards Self-reliance among farmers in Surin Province, Thailand
Thesis Abstract:
This study was conducted to examine the association between the independent variables: sociodemographic characteristics of the respondents, capacity building attendance, frequency of receiving communication method, and adequacy rating of the kinds of support given by the providers and level of self-reliance in four dimension of farmers who were members of community enterprises in Surin Province, Thailand. The study was conducted through survey research design. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire through in-depth interviews. Findings showed that the sociodemographic characteristics of the respondents, capacity building attendance, frequency of receiving communication method, and adequacy rating of kinds of support given by the providers were associated with the level of self-reliance indices.
