The real and complete meanings of the terms "sustainable agriculture" and "ecofarming" are not easy to describe and yet object of differing interpretation among scientists, farmers, and the public. One attribute of any sustainable system is its variability, which is dependent on specific local conditions (e.g, natural resources, climatic factors, cropping patterns, infrastructure, and social, economic and political framework). However, it is possible to describe some basic elements of sustainable agricultural systems that are valid for any location.
