The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) conducted this weekend a training on organizational development to strengthen the capacities of the Victoria Kalamansi Farmers' Federation (VKFF).

This, according to SEARCA, is in line with its flagship program titled Piloting and Up-scaling Effective Models of Inclusive and Sustainable Agricultural and Rural Development (ISARD).

"The training will provide opportunities for the farmers to upgrade their skills in organic farming as well as to enhance their capacities in organizational management by promoting the use of collective effort to community development," SEARCA said.

At the end of the training, VKFF members are expected to have acquired an understanding of organic farming and sustainable farming, as well as analyzed the current conditions that the farmers in Victoria are facing in terms of calamansi production, post-harvest, and marketing.

The participants are also expected to explore ways of improving decision-making given current constraints, and come up with a plan of action for the next six to 12 months.
