THE SOUTHEAST Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture will accept scholarship applications from PhD students whose dissertation themes are relevant to the center’s key objectives until May 30, 2022.

Agri-Business Models for Increased Productivity and Income, Sustainable Farming Systems and Natural Resource Management, Food and Nutrition Security, Transformational Leadership for Agriculture and Rural Development, Gender and Youth Engagement in ARD, Enhanced ARD Toward Climate Resilience, and Eco-Health/One-Health Applications to ARD are among the SEARCA priority areas.

The fellowship is open to Filipinos and citizens of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam, SEARCA director Dr. Glenn Gregorio said.

SEARCA, which is based in the University of the Philippines-Los Baños, offers up to $4,500 in research money and a two-month optional internship.

“During their internship, the scholars may use the resources and facilities available at SEARCA for their research. They will be able to work with SEARCA staff on common areas of interest in agriculture and rural development,” Gregorio said.
