GLOBAL AGRI FORUM —The 2nd International Conference on Agricultural and Rural Development in Southeast Asia (ARD2014) will be held on November 12-13, 2014 at the Makati Shangri-La. To avail themselves of special rates, registrants have up to August 31 to register.
The forum is under the auspices of SEARCA in partnership with various international, government, nongovernment, academic and private institutions. SEARCA is the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture based in Los Baños, Laguna.
The forum is a top level conference that will be attended by 400 agriculture and rural development experts from the academe and research institutions, government policy makers, local government executives, farmer-leaders and practicing farmers, private sector practitioners, civil society organizations and other stakeholders.
Dr. Gil C. Saguiguit Jr., SEARCA director, said the forum will highlight creative and innovative technological and practical approaches in the various processes comprising the agriculture system, spanning the entire agriculture value chain from production through postharvest, processing, marketing, transport and logistics. It will showcase and derive useful lessons from institutional successes and failures in the management of the agricultural system and rural communities.
