Students of Can Tho University (CTU), Vietnam visited SEARCA on 23 October 2018 as part of their student exchange program.
Nine of them are undergraduate students while one is pursuing his PhD at CTU. They came to SEARCA's to understand its core programs and activities. They also inquired about the Center's impact on agricultural education in Southeast Asian countries, particularly in Vietnam.
The Vietnamese delegation were given a briefing by Dr. Maria Cristeta N. Cuaresma, Dr. Pedcris M. Orencio, and Dr. Maria Monina Cecilia A. Villena, SEARCA Program Heads for Graduate Education and Institutional Development, Research and Development, and Knowledge Management, respectively, as well as Dr. Mariliza V. Ticsay, SEARCA Unit Head for Knowledge Resources.
After the briefing about SEARCA, the students were taken on a tour of nearby Laguna towns that are home to skilled craftsmen and artisans—Paete for woodcarvings and Lumban for delicate barong fabrics. They were accompanied by Ms. Lovely Grace R. Urriza and Mr. Renz B. Tabadero of SEARCA. (Leah Lyn D. Domingo)
