Continuing its commitment to accelerating transformation through agricultural innovations, the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) is organizing a forum on Breeding Innovations for Increasing Productivity and Climate Resilience in Crops and Livestock on 15 August 2023 (Tuesday), 2:00 p.m., at the SEARCA Drilon Hall in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines. The event is under the SEARCA Agriculture and Development Seminar Series (ADSS) and will also be livestreamed via SEARCA's Facebook page.
The forum aims to create an interactive platform of engagement with key stakeholders to discuss the latest updates, emerging issues, and concerns for an improved understanding and acceptance of biotechnology in the country.
International and local experts on agri-biotechnology will lead the discussions. They include Dr. Huw Jones, Professor of Translational Genomics for Plant Breeding from Aberystwyth University, Wales; Dr. Rhodora Aldemita, Executive Director of the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA), Inc.; and Dr. Claro Mingala, Director of the Philippine Agriculture and Fisheries Biotechnology Program.
The event is open to the public. Interested participants may pre-register through this link: https://bit.ly/adssbiotech. (This also serves as registration link for both online and onsite attendees).
This is the fourth and last session in the series of Biotech Outreach Activities organized by SEARCA in partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA-FAS) Manila and ISAAA.
