SEARCA scholar shares perspective on what it takes to be an industry leader

SINGAPORE – Mr. Arsenio D. Bulfa, Jr. served as one of the panelists during the Syngenta-led panel discussion “Outside In: Experts share their views on what it takes to be an industry leader.” The event, held on 24 February 2016 at Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort, was part of Syngenta’s efforts to gain insight from peers in the industry as well as to deepen the understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the sustainable business and agriculture space.

The panel discussion included professionals from the academe, farmer organization, multinational corporation, research institutions, and civil society, who shared their perspective and experiences on topics such as the current landscape of agriculture in Asia Pacific, industry best (and worst) practices, and how organizations can shift towards sustainable practices. For the said event, Mr. Bulfa represented the academic sector.

Mr. Bulfa is pursuing his master’s degree in Soil Science at the University of the Philippines Los Baños under the SEARCA scholarship starting AY 2015-2016. He is the Dean of the College of Agriculture at the Foundation University in Dumaguete City.
