The SEAMEO Service Award is given biennially to recognize exemplary staff members of each SEAMEO center and unit who have demonstrated high level of achievement in their work performance, innovation and creativity, professionalism, and commitment that contribute to the success of the organization. Each SEAMEO center selects the recipient of the SEAMEO Service Award based on a standard set of criteria.
Ms. Robles first joined SEARCA in 2004 as a Project Management Associate of then Consulting Services Department. With her dedication and hard work, she rose through the ranks and became Executive Coordinator of the Office of the Director and in 2014 was concurrently appointed as Unit Head of SEARCA’s Management Services.
Ms. Robles is the 10th SEARCA staff to have received the SEAMEO Service Award.
The awarding ceremony was held during the 48th SEAMEO Council Conference in Jomtien-Pattaya, Chonburi, Thailand on 6-10 May 2015.
Ms. Robles travelled to the Conference with the SEARCA delegation led by Dr. Gil C. Saguiguit, Jr., SEARCA Director. With them were Dr. Fernando C. Sanchez, Jr., Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and Concurrent Country Representative of the Philippines to the SEARCA Governing Board; Dr. Virginia R. Cardenas, SEARCA Deputy Director for Administration; and Mr. Rheden V. Rebong, Payroll Assistant at SEARCA’s Accounting Unit.
The Conference is a ministerial-level forum that aims to discuss education initiatives and policies in the region and set out the strategic directions for implementing the programs and projects of SEAMEO. This year’s Conference was hosted by the Ministry of Education of Thailand and was attended by education ministers and high-level government education officials from SEAMEO member states, associate members, affiliate members, and regional centers and network, as well as representatives from development partners and international organizations.
