SEARCA joins FSC World Food Day Colloquium and Annual Planning Workshop in Germany

SEARCA, represented by Dr. Maria Cristeta N. Cuaresma, Program Head for Graduate Education and Institutional Development (GEID), and Dr. Maria Monina Cecilia Villena, Special Projects Coordinator of the Biotechnology Information Center (BIC), joined the 2017 World Food Day Colloquium and FSC Planning Workshop on 19-20 October 2017 in Stuttgart, Germany.

The World Food Day Colloquium is a one-day annual event organized by the Food Security Center (FSC) of the University of Hohenheim. With this year's theme on Food and Digits, Dr. Villena presented a paper on 'Digitalization and Food Security amidst the Changing Landscape of Asian Agriculture.' On the other hand, Dr. Cuaresma presented the accomplishments of FSC-supported activities at SEARCA in the FSC Planning workshop.

SEARCA is a strategic partner of FSC, one of 5 EXCEED centers funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of Germany through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). FSC builds international networks on food security for the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
