NUEVA ECIJA, Philippines – SEARCA conducted the fourth training course on Business Proposal Preparation as part of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)-funded project titled, Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) on 24 July 2014 at the Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
The training equipped the farmer participants from various Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs) under the ARCCESS Program with the appreciation and skills in conducting profitability and financial analyses of new farm technologies and practices, and packaging these into business/project proposals. Major topics covered include various elements required in a business/project proposal as well as different economic and financial viability measures. A set of guidelines on business/project proposal preparation served as the main output for this training.
A total of 27 participants composed of Managers, Chairs, Secretaries, and Treasurers from the seven ARBOs attended the training. Officials from DAR Provincial Office, headed by Ms. Gemma Velasco, Agrarian Reform Program Officer (ARPO), were also present during the event.
Dr. Cesar B. Quicoy, Business Management Specialist, served as the lead resource person while Professor Jimmy Williams, Team Leader, facilitated the activity. Dr. Lope B. Santos III, Program Specialist and Officer-In-Charge of the SEARCA Project Development and Management Department, was also present in the event. (Sarah Grace L. Quiñones)
