PCC partners with SEARCA to offer graduate scholarship for PCC officers and staff

To upgrade the technical capacity of the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) on the areas of livestock research and application of biotechnology, PCC partners with the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) to offer scholarships for qualified PCC officers and staff to undertake graduate education in biotechnology, bio-informatics, genomics, breeding and other related courses.

The scholarship project will give PCC officers and regular staff the opportunity to take up graduate studies in reputable universities in the Philippines, USA, Canada, and Australia, which offers degree programs related to livestock biotechnology, animal genomics and bio-informatics. Furthermore, the graduate scholarship will also cover social science courses related to planning, policy and development studies and knowledge management. The scholarship is granted to a maximum of four semesters or two years for a Master's degree program, and six semesters  or three years for a doctoral program.

PCC is an attached agency of the Philippines' Department of Agriculture (DA). Aside from spearheading the implementation of the Carabao Development Program that aims to conserve water buffaloes and maximize economic gains for buffalo-based village enterprises, it is also the lead in the national research and development efforts on livestock biotechnology.
